This form is here now and it comes
from the hands and mind of
Osman Karriem-the 21st century’s
premier contemporary artist.
Osman Karriem is the creative,
governing man leading Aluminations,
a magical place in the land of art
that is an island unto itself.
Born and raised in New Jersey, Osman Karriem
began at
the tender age of five to conjure up and sculpt
aluminum foil figures. He would often surprise
friends and family with forms of their favorite
people, flowers or pets. After graduation,
Osman
moved to California to pursue a career in music
and
film. The road to stardom was long and
hard. In
danger of becoming a true “starving artist”,
Osman
resolved himself and used what little resources
he
had, to gather a supply of foil and head towards
Venice Beach. There he employed another
of the many
talents bestowed upon him. This was the
birth of
Aluminations.
A family obligation brought Osman back
to his roots
in New Jersey. Here, Osman became even
more
determined to practice his art and make a name
for
himself on the East Coast. Thus Aluminations
was
reborn.
Aluminations has established success in
many areas.
Recently renamed Aluminations, Inc.; the organization
has grown to include calendars, prints, and clothing
based on the primary art medium; fantastic aluminum
foil sculptures. Osman uses these products
to share a
futuristic life in progress. Osman hopes
to motivate
many through these multiple venues as many genres
have
influenced him.
